In September 2020, City Planning shared the latest draft of the Boyle Heights Community Plan policy document and updated zoning, along with the draft Community Plan Implementation Overlay (CPIO). Informational materials that summarize and highlight key features of these Plan documents, including policy handouts and an interactive presentation, were also shared.

As the pandemic began and various local and state measures were implemented, staff continued to engage with the community. As new community issues arose and others were magnified through safer at home orders and social distancing, staff began incorporating new language into the policies and goals of the plan.

In December 2020, City Planning conducted virtual Office Hours for stakeholders and community organizations to sign up for time slots to discuss the Plan draft and any specific questions. City Planning also presented to the Neighborhood Council Planning and Land Use Committee in December 2020.
