The Map Processing Unit administers the procedures for lot line adjustments, certificates of compliance, and deemed-to-be-approved private streets. The unit also provides general consultation and pre-application review.

Lot Line Adjustments
In Lot Line Adjustments, four or fewer existing adjacent parcels relocate their lot lines, taking land from one parcel and adding it to an abutting parcel, but creating no more parcels than originally existed. This process may also be referred to as a Parcel Map Exemption.
Certificates of Compliance
Deemed-to-be-Approved Private Streets
This process legalizes private streets that were unlawfully created by a grant deed and without the necessary City approvals. It is limited to private streets and existing residential units that existed as of September 6, 1961, where an associated building permit is limited to a remodel or an expansion of an existing residence.
