Jaime Del Rio

Jaime Del Rio is a Los Angeles native born and raised in the Northeast San Fernando Valley. He holds a bachelor’s degree in Urban Planning from California State University, Northridge, and has worked as a Community Organizer since 2014. Currently, Jaime is the Director of Organizing for Abundant Housing LA. Before joining AHLA, he worked at TreePeople from 2019 to 2021, leading outreach efforts on a Needs Assessment WaterTalks survey and organizing Water Equity issues in marginalized communities.

Jaime Geaga

Commissioner Geaga is semi-retired and is active in the Filipino American community. His community activities include Board Member and Treasurer of the Friends of Echo Park Library, chair of the Carlos Bulosan Book Club, and Deputy Controller, Pilipino American Los Angeles Democrats. He is also a member of the HiFi (Historic FilipinoTown) Coalition and involved in community programming for LGBTQ+ projects and activities.

Maria Cabildo

Commissioner Cabildo is a lifelong Angeleno. Born and raised in East Los Angeles. She has a long career in public service. She has held positions in the philanthropic, nonprofit, private, and government sectors, including serving as the CEO of the East LA Community Corporation, a nonprofit community-based affordable housing developer, from 1999-2015. Maria has served as an appointee on state and local boards, including Los Angeles' City Planning Commission (2013-2015), LAUSD's Construction Bond Citizens' Oversight Committee, and the California Housing Partnership Corporation.

Marty Shelton

Commissioner Shelton is a commercial real estate broker specializing in the development, retail leasing and sale of multi-family / mixed-use projects / retail properties in the Los Angeles area for more than 30 years with both CB Richard Ellis (“CBRE”) and NAI Capital Commercial, Inc. Throughout his real estate tenure, he has been involved in a wide variety of commercial transactions from bank asset sales to shopping center sales.

Stacey Pruitt

Commissioner Pruitt is an attorney for a Special District in Southern California that addresses environmental issues. She is a career prosecutor, and is certified in Diversity, Equity and Inclusion. Ms. Pruitt attended the University of Southern California and the University of West Los Angeles for undergrad and obtained her doctorate in Law from Loyola Law School.

Gerlie Collado

Commissioner Collado leads grants, administration, and the Flow Fund for Climate Justice for the Panta Rhea Foundation. She has more than 20 years of experience with nonprofit direct service and grantmaking organizations in the areas of communications, artistic programming, community engagement, and grantmaking. Commissioner Collado has a master’s degree in arts management from the Claremont Graduate University and a bachelor’s degree in business administration from the University of San Francisco.

Amber Sheikh

Commissioner Sheikh is a nonprofit/social sector consultant with Thurlow/Associates where she tenaciously works to raise the capacity of organizations trying to solve the toughest issues facing Los Angeles. She is an active community advocate and serves on the boards of Social Venture Partners LA, Los Angeles County Bicycle Coalition, and Maternal Mental Health NOW. She holds a bachelor’s degree in International Relations from the University of California, Davis.  

Karen E. Mack

Commissioner Mack is the founder of LA Commons, a South LA-based nonprofit implementing artistic and cultural programs that reflect the unique character of diverse neighborhoods and give residents, particularly young people, a voice and an on-ramp to making positive change across the city. Prior to her work with LA Commons, she served as a Public Service Fellow at the John F. Kennedy School of Government at Harvard University and Vice President at Community Partners. Ms.

John Bagakis

Commissioner Bagakis has been a small business owner in San Pedro for the past 15 years. His restaurant has received numerous awards and recognition for being a generous community partner. He also serves on the Little Italy of Los Angeles (LILAA) Board of Directors and as Vice Chairman of the Board for the San Pedro Chamber of Commerce. He attended Cal State Long Beach.
