On July 1, 2026, the Los Angeles City Council adopted the final ordinances to implement updates to the Boyle Heights Community Plan policies, zoning and General Plan Land Use (GPLU) map. The implementing ordinances have now been signed by the Mayor and will go into effect on August 20, 2026 (per Section 252 of the LAMC). Between adoption and the effective date, City Planning will prepare updates to the Boyle Heights Community Plan website, ZIMAS, and application forms, to ready the Boyle Heights Community Plan for implementation. In the meantime, please visit Council File No. 23-0861 to view the Plan Text Policy Document, Zone Change Ordinance, General Plan Land Use Designation Map, General Plan Land Use Change Maps and Matrices, and adopted implementing ordinances, including, the Boyle Heights Community Plan Implementation Overlay District (Boyle Heights CPIO), amendments to Chapter 1A of the Los Angeles Municipal Code (LAMC), and other materials related to the Boyle Heights Community Plan Update. In addition, the new Interactive Zoning Map contains the site-specific zoning and GPLU information that reflect the adopted zone changes.
