City Planning Holds Public Hearing for Housing Element Rezoning Program Draft Ordinances

On Thursday, July 25, City Planning hosted a staff-level public hearing to collect public comment on the revised Housing Element Rezoning Program ordinances, including the Citywide Housing Incentive Program (CHIP) Ordinance, Housing Element Sites and Minimum Density Ordinance, and Resident Protections Ordinance. The evening began with an information session and live Q&A for community members to learn more about revisions to the draft ordinances and ask questions. No decision was made during the hearing and the public comment received on Thursday evening will be used to inform future revisions of the draft ordinance.

The public comment period for the Citywide Housing Incentive Program (CHIP) Ordinance, Housing Element Sites and Minimum Density Ordinance, and Resident Protections Ordinance has been extended and will close on Monday, August 26, 2024 at 5:00pm. Comments can be sent to housingelement@lacity.org. Following this date, all public comment should be directed to the City Planning Commission.
