Christopher Torres

Commissioner Torres is the Founding Principal of Agency Artifact Landscape Architecture and Urban Design. He brings over a decade of experience in all aspects of architecture, design, planning, public art, and community engagement, and has led large-scale multidisciplinary architectural practices working locally and internationally. Mr. Torres holds a Master of Landscape Architecture from UC Berkeley, training in Urban Design from Columbia University and a BA in Urban Studies from Loyola Marymount University.

Monique Lawshe

Commissioner Lawshe, a seasoned real estate development and acquisitions professional, has been instrumental in the significant growth of two Los Angeles-based real estate companies – A Community of Friends, a non-profit development company, and GHC Housing Partners, a nationally recognized owner and operator of affordable housing. She remains a Partner in GHC Housing Partners’s affiliate PK Management LLC and was formerly the CEO of A Community of Friends. Ms.

April Sandifer

April Sandifer is a native Angeleno dedicated to social and environmental justice. Inspired by her great-grandmother's commitment to the South Los Angeles community, she has pursued a career focused on urban development and community engagement. April earned both her Bachelor of Arts in Urban Studies and a Master's in Urban Ecology from Loyola Marymount University.

Maleena Lawrence

Commissioner Lawrence brings over 25 years of grassroots organizing experience and creative development to deprived communities, start-ups, studios and agencies where the demand to disrupt aligns with social good. She is the Founder and lead Creative Producer at Deep Rooted Entertainment Group, LLC, a boutique multimedia production company.

Araz Parseghian

Commissioner Parseghian has more than 12 years of experience in the real estate and mortgage lending industry and owns a company in this field. Previously, he worked in a corporate environment within the banking sector for 10 years prior to venturing into the mortgage industry. Commissioner Parseghian has a master’s degree in business administration from Woodbury University.

Esther Hatch

Commissioner Hatch is currently employed at the Los Angeles Unified School District. She managed the 2000 and 2010 Decennial Census operations for downtown Los Angeles and Torrance. Ms. Hatch has served on the Board of Neighborhood Commissioners (BONC) and the Neighborhood Council Review Commission.

Barry Milofsky

Partner in M2A (Milofsky and Michali) Architects in Los Angeles, bringing over 40 years of experience in coordinating complex historic preservation and urban development projects.
