Michael Newhouse

Commissioner Newhouse is an experienced Real Estate, Land Use & Planning and Environmental Attorney. He currently serves as the Managing Shareholder of Newhouse Law Group, PC, and is a licensed Real Estate Broker and Principal of The Newhouse Group, Inc. He is also a longtime volunteer in his community, having served as past President of the West Los Angeles Area Planning Commission, the Venice Neighborhood Council, the Westside Regional Alliance of Councils (WRAC) and as Board Chair and Pro Bono Legal Counsel to Venice Arts. Mr.

Jasson Crockett

Commissioner Crockett joined Snap Inc. in January 2021, where he heads Public Policy and Government Relations for the State of California. Commissioner Crockett’s responsibilities include liaising with local and state elected leaders, agencies, and community organizations, to advance legislative priorities, strategic partnerships and civic initiatives. Prior to joining Snap, Commissioner Crockett was Director of Community Business in the Office of Los Angeles Mayor Eric Garcetti.

Marty Shelton

Commissioner Shelton is a commercial real estate broker specializing in the development, retail leasing and sale of multi-family / mixed-use projects / retail properties in the Los Angeles area for more than 30 years with both CB Richard Ellis (“CBRE”) and NAI Capital Commercial, Inc. Throughout his real estate tenure, he has been involved in a wide variety of commercial transactions from bank asset sales to shopping center sales.

Steve Kang

Commissioner Kang is the Director of External Affairs for Koreatown Youth & Community Center (KYCC), which is a multi-service nonprofit organization providing a diverse array of direct social services ranging from affordable housing, mental health counseling, youth services, environmental services, and more. Mr. Kang holds a bachelor's degree from Columbia University and a master's degree from The London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE). In 2016, Mr. Kang was honored by the Empowerment Congress as one of 40 Emerging Civic Leaders Under 40.

Gerlie Collado

Commissioner Collado leads grants, administration, and the Flow Fund for Climate Justice for the Panta Rhea Foundation. She has more than 20 years of experience with nonprofit direct service and grantmaking organizations in the areas of communications, artistic programming, community engagement, and grantmaking. Commissioner Collado has a master’s degree in arts management from the Claremont Graduate University and a bachelor’s degree in business administration from the University of San Francisco.

Eric D. Bates

Commissioner Bates is a Special Assistant Inspector General with the California Office of the Inspector General. Previously, he served as a Deputy Attorney General with the Office of the Attorney General in the California Department of Justice. Mr. Bates holds a doctorate in Law from Whittier College.
